Building costs rose by 2.2 per cent in October

Building costs were 2.2 per cent higher in October 2010 than in October 2009. Labour costs in construction rose by 0.4 per cent and prices of materials by 3.9 per cent in the year. Those of other inputs were nearly the same as in October 2009. This is indicated by the Building Cost Index of Statistics Finland.

From September to October, the total index of building costs rose by 0.3 per cent. The prices for labour rose by 0.3 per cent, the prices of materials by 0.4 per cent and the prices for those of other inputs by 0.3 per cent.
