Description

The statistics on Consumer Confidence express consumers’ sentiments, expectations and intentions relating to economic matters.

Data content

Consumers’ views and expectations on the development of their own and Finland’s economy, and intentions on making major purchases, saving money or raising a loan. The data system of the Consumer Confidence statistics is comprised of respondent-specific original data from data collection, which may not be disclosed, and published data concerning response distributions and time series.

Classifications used

Respondent’s gender, age group, level of education, socio-economic group, income bracket, major region, tenure of dwelling and household’s size. The statistical unit is person.

Data collection methods and data sources

A monthly mixed-mode survey by a web questionnaire and telephone interviews, targeting persons living in Finland.

Monthly.

Time of completion or release

Approximately three days before the end of a statistical month.

Time series

The data are available semi-annually from 1987 onwards, quarterly from 1992 onwards and monthly from October 1995 onwards.
